It’s surprising how many people aren’t aware of the fact that you can call your mobile voice mailbox from any phone, using your full voice mailbox number. Ok, it’s usually free if you dial 171, but if you have rubbish coverage, or your phone died, or you just left it somewhere, it can be very useful.
I’m not sure of the number for Meteor and Three, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same for O2 and Vodafone: Simply insert a 5 between the (now deprecated, but you know what I mean) network prefix and the number. So if your number is 087 000 0000, your voice mailbox number is 087 5000 0000.
And of course outside the country, you can dial the same way you dial any international number: +353 87 5000 0000. And if that’s your real number, oops, please let me know so I can pick another example!
* Or inside the country for that matter, at no extra charge. This is the way you should set up all you numbers, so you don’t have to make changes if/when you go roaming.
