Can Labour pull off innovation?

Damien tells us that Howard Dean campaign advisor Zack Exley has been hired by the Labour Party to advise them on Internet strategy. Something like this is badly needed in Ireland, and if anyone can do it, Exley can.

To be honest I wasn’t aware of his name, but I was aware of his work on Dean’s campaign, and to a lesser extent Kerry’s. Why lesser? Because he broke ground on Dean’s campaign, and by the time Kerry’s came around his ideas had become par for the course in political campaigning.

Hopefully he’ll try to push the envelope again with Labour. Hopefully Labour will let him. If he doesn’t succeed in Ireland, I think the latter is more likely to be at fault than the former.
